I saw this posted on the D*C LJ community and thought it couldn't possibly be true... but it's posted on the D*C webpage, and it's not April Fool's Day, so I guess it's really happening.
Personally, I think it's a genius move for D*C. It would be hard to find someone more qualified than Eric for the position (for values of 'qualified' which correspond to years in fandom, past experience, etc and which have nothing to do with interpersonal skills), so no matter who they appointed, Eric and co would raise hell... oh wait, what's that you say? You got one of the ACTUAL ACTORS FROM THE FRANCHISE to agree to run things? Shit. |

The Sheraton Staff(tm) applauds this decision ...
Ok ... yeah right ... who am I kidding?
An actor from the series running the track? And one of the NICEST GUYS EVER to appear on a panel from the entire star trek universe?
Garret is really truly a nice guy, very personable, and he's always been a big hit w/the fans on panels he's participated in.
This looks to me like a major coup ... my only question is ... how the heck is this guy gonna have time to run this gig, with all his other (presumed) goings-on? I hope all works out OK.
Danielle/Bill -- at some point we will need to communicate w/the trektrak folks for tech requirements, etc ... we did run into some issues tech-wise last year that will need to be addressed for the beauty pageant this year.

The track directors put all their needs into the same database that they input their schedule. Bill & JD definitely get that list pre-con. |
