Reminder: shift signup form!

As the schedule creeps ever closer to becoming final, some new positions have been made available on the shift signup list.

(The username and password are the ones that are regularly broadcasted in tech staff emails. To pick out shifts, click on the “sign up for shifts” link in the navbar above…)

Fair warning: when you pick up your badge this year, Kat is going to ask you to look at the shift grid to pick out some shifts you can help out with. While it’s true that there are some people whose jobs can’t be reliably pigeonholed into shifts, this is not everyone on tech staff by any stretch of the imagination.

More shifts may will likely become available soon. As soon as we know about them, they’ll get added in and announced to staff.

New to staff? Not sure what you’d be good at? Sign on to the boards and talk about it here.

These are shifts that need to be filled; these guarantee that we’ll have at least a skeleton crew on hand at all times. For those of you who are new, a rough breakdown of what we still need more people for:

  • Morning setup in Centennial
  • Babysitting soundboards during the morning and afternoon panels in Centennial
  • Running cameras for DCTV (Brian prefers people with previous camera experience for this job, thus the “clear with Brian first!” tag)
  • Moving equipment around in the Marriott
  • Running the radio in Ops, our ‘front office’ for the rest of dragon*con
  • Making and sending recharges
  • Babysitting soundboards and moving equipment around in morning/afternoon/evening panels in Regency
  • Runners - people who move equipment from room to room and provide muscle and equipment setup when needed
