Bwahahahahahaha!

A few weeks ago, domesticat and I were talking web geekiness. At some point, discussion of such came to this here website.

domesticat: “How hard would it be to install this, this and such on techops?”
me: “Not terribly hard at all. Perhaps a bit time-consuming. But that’s all.”

The plan started with a re-design of the site, ostensibly because PapaSmurf was scared of the ever-present Oompa image at the top. (Hence the random images.) Then came the new foto gallery. Now, this here weblog is our latest geeky triumph. Sure, you can *see* nothing different. But trust me…. hours and hours of work went into making this look as if nothing changed in the first place! It’s kinda like make-up. The plan is to make it look like you’re not wearing it, right? Not that I would know anything about that, but the same is true for webmasters. Yes, we’re a strange breed.

Where was I? Oh yeah! You must all bow before the great Duckie, lord of all that is… oh, sorry… different speech. Anywho, it was suggested that I should take this baby for a spin. Consider it spun. And we’ll have more webby goodness to spin, that’s for sure.

Why, you ask?

Well, without any pie, what else are we going to do before ‘con 2004?

s’alright. I’m sitting here raising a celebratory drink to getting this portion of the site revamped.

At this point…if everyone says “I can’t see any difference” then I’ll say we managed to do it right. You know the motto - be invisible…and ruthlessly efficient.

Now all we gotta do is figure out what our NEXT trick is gonna be…

Grrr. Yeah. I know why. That was the folder where everything was living when we were testing. Forgot to make that change when we moved things live. Oops.
