OK…the overall shakedown with regards to Harris, et al.

Regency is woefully understaffed. We’ve also lost Oompa Jr. so there is now no one to run Regency p.m. I don’t think it was ever fully decided who was running Regency a.m. either. I know Wintersun and Sean had expressed an interest…still interested?

Harris mostly needs glorified runners. I’m thinking of splitting it into an a.m. concentrated shift (roughly 9:30 - 3:00) and a p.m. concentrated shift (3:00 - 7:30…whenever we get wrapped up) Doesn’t have to be anything that formal if it works out better otherwise. Those of you who have worked Harris before know that it is an exercise in “hurry up and wait.”

The biggest need in Harris is on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until about 1:00 p.m. We’re wedged in between two other cons so we don’t get all the downstairs rooms until 8:00 a.m.on Friday (which translates to about 9:30) These rooms have to be completely set up by 1:00 for the first round of pannels to begin. If anyone knows how to contact Johnathan Dietch, please let him know that I need him for microphone set up during this time.

Amy forgot to mention that the con following us is a Southern Baptist Con. Busloads of Southern Baptists will be coming into the Hyatt around 10:00 a.m. on Monday as busloads of hung-over Klingons…anyone care to make wagers on the outcome of this one?

At current Centennial has nothing scheduled Friday morning… dunno if that’ll change, but if it doesn’t, you’ll have a whole lot of help :)

Looks Like I will be in regency this year, Kat will help when needed. THe question is when do you want me there, AM or PM. Either will work for me as long as we have folks there to run soundboards and do lights. I can coordinate, but I can’t fiddle with those things.

Sean, from the sounds of things on Sat. the soundboard and lights will be fully manned. What I think they really need up there are Regency managers.

One thing I’m thinking of for Harris is on Thur. afternoon creating a box (or even just a pile) for all "permanent" equipment for each of the track rooms. That way Fri. a.m. will just be grab the appropriate box/pile carry it to it’s room and plug everything in. I want to start early enough that the TV carts and screens for the Trek, Buffy and Xena tracks can all be transported via the main lobby instead of the escalators.

I’ve already stocked up on Post-It notes and pens. Looks like we’ll be properly equiped.

Is Kat or Amy going to be the one helping you with scheduling down in Harris this year. I want to make sure. I know Amy is in charge of food, but I want to make sure that you have a replacement when you want to go see the con.

Judging from the e-mails I’ve gotten, Amy is in charge of fud, Kat will be helping me in Harris and Sean will be in Regency day.

Regency night is still up for grabs.

Clipboards are the one thing we’ll need for Harris that I don’t have a surplus…if ya got ‘em, bring ‘em!

Suzan, that works for me. That way both you and I can take breaks from Harris to see bits of the con this year.

If all that is needed is management in Regency, I will be glad to help with managing, but if there is someone who isn’t already taken elsewhere, I would suggest using them instead of me so that I get a few breaks from working this year.

Well…as it stands right now…I will be two rooming it again running back and forth between Regency and Centennial. Not a big deal since Stuart is back. I can work with whomever is in Regency to make sure that things are running smoothly. Looks like most of the fuckup fairy stuff has been removed for safety and mental stability concerns. Just my .02

Someone should talk to Jeff Sexton (Firelord) - he would be a great person to run Regency nights as I believe he’s done it in the past.
