In Memoriam: Phil "Grape Bitch/Ink Pad" Searfoss
A Star Wars Quandry

Here’s a problem … let’s say, hypothetically of course, that an unnamed person (whom none of you have ever met and could not identify to federal authorities) managed to download an illegal copy of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones using a file sharing program.

Then let’s say, again hypothetically, that same person used the same file sharing program to download an MP3 of the theme from Shaft.

Then suppose, just for kicks, this mysterious person used a video editing program to make a montage of the movie’s Mace Windu scenes, put to the music of Shaft.

Then this person shows the video to their friends, who find funnier than Jar Jar Binks being beaten up by an Ewok speeder bike gang. Where would a person make such a video available for download, knowing full well how many copyright laws this video violates?

I await the wisdom of the council …

It’s available on Grokster whenever it’s running on said person’s computer. However, people have to know to look for it … which you can’t really do on a P2P network.
