Meeting Update

Time for notes from the last full DC staff meeting …

First huge note … I have been deposed of my TechOps leadership position. Thomas (a.k.a. Papa Smurf) is back as TechOps leader. The Navy, wisely modifying their standards, has decided that giving Thomas more weapons would be bad for world peace. So he will be at the con … so he will once again lead us into the abyss that is DragonCon.

Second note … hosts. This is the line-up as far as I know: {{link http://www.dragoncon.org/people/nelsonm.html Mike Nelson}} of MST3K fame will host the Masquerade, {{link http://www.tracilords.com/intro/index.html Traci Lords}} will host the Dawn contest. Do not expect Traci to talk much about her past acting work, she’s here to support {{link http://www.scifi.com/firstwave/ First Wave}} where she keeps her clothes on while fighting aliens.

Third note … video madness. Last year I tried to document the con using a borrowed video camera. This didn;t turn our as I had planned, since I had to put the camera down while fighting various fires. I now own a proper DV camcorder, and have an appointed lackie to operate it. Please {{email spambrian@mindspring.com e-mail me}} if you have a DV camcorder we can use for convention documentation. It’s about the only way anybody will believe our stories.

That’s all I have for now. The next DC full staff meeting is July 13th. Please try to attend.

You should just strap the camera to a hard hat and then use a strap to hold the hard hat onto your head and walk around like that. That way, we can also pass it off to other people and just let them walk around like that.

welcome back thomas… although I suspect there is much much more to the story, I’m glad you’ll be with us at DragonCon.

Yes the damn NAVY found out about my Knee, so they feel that i would not be able to make it through basic training.

So i am still here.
